VISITATION POLICY

 

The care and safety of our patients is our primary concern at West Shore Medical. We also recognize the importance of support from family and friends for patients.

Daily visiting hours and rules are established to encourage visitors as well as to ensure that patients can rest and recuperate, and we can carry out treatment.

Visitors to patients in the ICU are restricted to immediate family only i.e. mother, father, spouse, children, siblings. Visitors under the age of 12 years will not be allowed into the Unit.

Visitors will be permited for 10 minutes in any hour during the periods:

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

There may be unique and extenuating circumstances that may require compassionate exceptions to these guidelines. The Registered Nurse and the Medical Consultant, using professional judgement and collaboration with the patient’s designated representative, may consider unique family circumstances.
